Focus and Scope

The Journal of Agriculture and Value Addition is a research journal produced and published by the Faculty of Animal Science and Export Agriculture, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka. It creates an opportunity for effective and healthy communication of findings from the national and international research community representing main myriad disciplines of agriculture such as crops, livestock, aquaculture and fisheries focusing on value addition. The journal integrates these key areas and diverse developments, and provides a unique opportunity to make significant advancement in the research while providing a special opening to connect domain experts from Agriculture, Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Agribusiness Management, etc., which are interconnected with the theme of value addition.

Prime objectives of the Journal of Agriculture and Value Addition are

  • to focus on research that promotes value addition in agriculture and fisheries,
  • to offer readers an opportunity to tap into the future enhancement of the agriculture and fisheries sector and
  • to streamline the relevant findings towards economic development.

JAVA will accept research in the form of Original Research Papers, Short Communications and Review Articles.


Publication Frequency

The Journal of Agriculture and Value Addition publishes two issues a year.


Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. There is no embargo on the journal’s publications. Submission and acceptance dates, along with publication dates, are made available on the PDF format for each paper.


Archiving Policy

This journal is available for LOCKSS harvesting, to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. See LOCKSS harvesting start page.
